Abstract

Performing arts are one form of intangible cultural heritage that must be preserved, considering the challenges of globalization and modernization, which have caused several performing arts traditions to gradually face extinction due to the discontinuation of transmission to younger generations. Therefore, Situbondo Regency, as part of East Java, has a unique activity known as the Situbondo Ethnic Festival, which involves participants from various regions and encourages younger generations to take part in preserving and developing the performing arts. Recognizing the potential for the development of performing arts in Situbondo Regency, there is a need for a dedicated platform where artists and the general public can express their creativity in the field of performing arts. The Situbondo Open-Air Performing Arts Center can become the first performing arts center in Situbondo Regency, serving as a place that brings artists together to share knowledge and experiences, while also disseminating them to the wider community so that the performing arts can continue to grow. The Situbondo Open-Air Performing Arts Center is not only envisioned as a performance venue but also as a green space that fosters interaction between people and nature, while simultaneously increasing the amount of Green Open Space in Situbondo Regency. Therefore, the Situbondo Open-Air Performing Arts Center can serve as a strategic step in developing the performing arts and as a landmark for the broader community.
