Abstract

Berikut abstrak **150 kata**: Pabrik Magnesium Sulfat Heptahidrat berkapasitas 85.000 ton/tahun direncanakan berdiri di Manyar, Gresik, dengan operasi 24 jam per hari selama 330 hari per tahun. Bahan baku magnesium karbonat dari PT Mitra Tsalasa Jaya dan asam sulfat 98,5% dari PT Petro Jordan Abadi diolah melalui proses pengenceran, reaksi, pemisahan, evaporasi, dan kristalisasi. Asam sulfat diencerkan hingga 22% sebelum direaksikan dengan magnesium karbonat dalam reaktor CSTR eksotermis dengan waktu reaksi 3 jam dan konversi 98%, menghasilkan magnesium sulfat serta CO₂ sebagai produk samping. Suspensi hasil reaksi dipisahkan dari pengotornya menggunakan Rotary Drum Vacuum Filter. Filtrat kemudian diuapkan hingga kadar MgSO₄ mencapai 42,25% sebelum dikristalisasi menjadi MgSO₄·7H₂O menggunakan Swenson Walker Crystallizer. Kristal selanjutnya dipisahkan airnya melalui centrifuge dan dikeringkan dengan rotary dryer menggunakan udara panas kering. Produk akhir disimpan dalam silo setelah melalui proses elevasi.
