Abstract
A notary, as a public official authorized to draft authentic deeds, one of which is the Deed of Inheritance, which must comply with all rules and procedures for drafting deeds stipulated in the Notary Law and the Notary Code of Ethics. Failure to meet formal requirements due to a failure to adhere to the principle of accuracy can be detrimental to the parties and threaten the notary's reputation. This study aims to determine how a notary can violate the principle of accuracy and be sued for a deed, as well as to analyze the accountability a notary takes for a deed with formal defects. The research method used is normative juridical, referring to books, journals, theses, and decisions relevant to the research topic. The absence of detailed regulations governing the application of the principle of accuracy leads notaries to differ in their interpretation of the principle of accuracy. Therefore, this study is expected to encourage a notary to be more careful in drafting a deed, taking preventive measures aimed at protecting their integrity and preventing lawsuits.
