Abstract
The production of Magnesium Sulfate Heptahydrate fertilizer consists of four stages: raw material pretreatment, reaction, crystallization, and product control. In pretreatment, bittern is reacted with 48% NaOH diluted to 7% and 98% H₂SO₄ diluted to 40% before being fed to the reactor. In the first reaction stage, bittern is reacted with 7% NaOH to precipitate Mg(OH)₂. The solid Mg(OH)₂ is then separated and reacted with 40% H₂SO₄ to form a MgSO₄ solution. In the crystallization stage, the MgSO₄ solution is first concentrated in an evaporator and then flowed to a crystallizer to form MgSO₄·7H₂O crystals. The crystals are then separated and dried in a rotary dryer and cooled on a cooling conveyor. Product control includes standardizing the size with a 150-mesh ball mill, followed by storage in a silo before packaging.
