Abstract

The demand for sugar continues to increase every year, while domestic sugar production is only 2.49 million tons. This imbalance between consumption and production has prompted the government to launch a sugar self sufficiency program, targeting an annual production of 3.26 million tons by 2019. CV. Inovasindo Berkah Bersama, as one of the producers of liquid sugar derived from cassava, continues to make efforts to increase its production. The objective of this study is to analyze risks and risk mitigation in the distribution process of cassava sugar (commonly referred to as gulakong). The study involved 30 respondents. It employs the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method, Pareto diagram, and risk management strategies categorized as Ex-Ante, Interactive, and Ex-Post. The results of the study identified 13 sources of risk in the distribution process. The FMEA calculations produced a critical Risk Priority Number (RPN) of 27.86 and a critical Severity Rating (RS) of 8.53. The study concludes that risk mitigation measures are necessary to reduce the likelihood of potential risks occurring. Keyword: Cassava Sugar; Production; Risk; Mitigation
