Abstract

This study aims to improve the land transportation traffic system at XYZ Port through the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) approaches. This study identified various problems, including the disorderliness of truck drivers who did not follow traffic procedures properly, as well as traffic congestion around the port buffer area. The use of the DMAIC method helps identify root causes and formulate sustainable solutions, while FMEA is used to analyze potential system failures and determine repair priorities based on the Risk Priority Number (RPN). The results of this study produce recommendations for improvements that include the preparation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve traffic efficiency and reduce congestion at the port. With the implementation of these improvements, it is hoped that port operations will be more orderly and efficient, and can support regional and national economic growth.
