Abstract

A margarine factory using corn oil (RBDCO), hydrogen (H2), and emulsifiers with a hydrogenation process, having a capacity of 30,000 tons per year, is planned to be established in the Marunda Industrial Area, Marunda Center Road, Tarumajaya, Bekasi Regency, West Java. This margarine factory operates continuously 24 hours a day with 330 working days per year and employs 175 workers. The factory uses corn oil (RBDCO) raw material sourced from PT Resto Pangan Utama located in Bekasi Regency, West Java; 100% hydrogen (H2) obtained from PT Air Liquide Indonesia, also located in Bekasi Regency; emulsifiers sourced from PT Musim Mas Fuji in the Bekasi industrial area; and nickel catalyst obtained from PT Smelter Nikel Indonesia in Gresik City. The main product produced is margarine. Margarine has many uses in the industrial sector, including as a medium for frying food ingredients and baking cakes and bread. Margarine is also commonly used in making ice cream, candies, and other processed products because it improves the softness and texture of the products.
