Abstract
A dam is a crucial infrastructure in the development and management of water resources. The Tugu Dam was constructed in 2014 and completed in 2021. The high rate of erosion in the Tugu Dam Catchment Area (CA) is the primary factor causing sedimentation in the reservoir. It is inevitable that river flows entering the dam carry sediment materials that subsequently settle. The reduction in reservoir storage capacity due to sedimentation can significantly impact the operational performance of the Tugu Dam. HEC-RAS software, developed by the US Army Corps of Engineers, is utilized for hydrological analyses such as river flow, flooding, dam failure modeling, and sedimentation analysis. The data used are secondary data sourced from the Brantas River Basin Authority (BBWS). The sedimentation rate must be considered because the volume of sediment retained or transported by river flows directly affects the lifespan and capacity of a reservoir. Based on calculations and analyses conducted in this final project, it was determined that three main types of data are required for sediment transport modeling: geometric data, hydrological data, and sediment data. The model results indicate a decrease in dead storage capacity from an initial value of 1,040,000 m³ to 832,516.85 m³, representing a reduction of 19.95%. Moreover, the effective storage capacity slightly changed from 8,667,000 m³ to 8,666,000.01 m³, with a reduction percentage of 0.0115%. The sedimentation pattern detected in the Tugu Dam reservoir through HEC-RAS modeling is a uniform deposition pattern, with a total sediment volume of 207,483.14 m³.
