Abstract

rief Process Description of the Barium Carbonate Plant from barium Sulfide and Carbon Dioxide. The materials to be reacted in the reactor are Barium Sulfide Solution and Carbon Dioxide gas. Previously, Barium Sulfide (BaS) was dissolved in advance with process water from the utility in the Mixing tank and heated to a temperature of 40 celcius, and for the Carbon Dioxide raw material it was previously stored in a pressurized tank with a liquid phase with a pressure of 70 atm and then lowered the pressure using an expander to 1 atm is then heated using a heater to a temperature of 40 celcius, so that the two materials enter the reactor with a temperature of 40 celcius, for reactor operating conditions 1 atm 40 celcius, for the top product from the reactor in the form of H2S and CO2 gas stored in the Gas Holder and for the bottom product in the form of slurry is pumped to the Rotary Drum vacuum filter with the aim of separating the filtrate and cake, for the filtrate to be flowed to waste water treatment and the cake is continued to the Rotary Dryer to reduce the water content in the cake, then the cake is cooled using a cooling conveyor, then the barium carbonate product put into a ball mill to be reduced in size up to 100 mesh, after that the product is put in the warehouse for packaging with 50 kg / bag.
