Abstract

This study seeks to examine the factors that influence the decision to borrow through fintech lending, with financial literacy as a moderating variable. This study is based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) theory and prospect theory. The factors examined include perceived benefits, perceived risks, financial health, and perceived ease of use. This study uses a quantitative method with primary data obtained through a questionnaire. The research population includes all users of fintech lending services born between 1981 and 1996, often referred to as millennials, totaling 41,044,778 individuals. The research sample consisted of 152 individuals surveyed using stratified random sampling. SEM-PLS analysis was conducted using SmartPLS version 4.0 software. The findings of this study indicate that perceived benefits, financial health, and perceived ease of use have a positive and significant effect on the decision to borrow through fintech lending. Meanwhile, perceived risk has a negative and significant effect on the decision to borrow through fintech lending. Financial literacy is also able to moderate the relationship between perceived benefits, perceived risk, financial health, and perceived ease of use with the decision to borrow through fintech lending. Keywords: Fintech, Lending, Technology Acceptance Model
