Abstract
This study aims to identify the leading economic sectors in North Lampung Regency and analyze their capacity to absorb labor. Employment issues are a crucial issue in regional economic development, with high unemployment rates a challenge that must be addressed immediately. Therefore, strengthening leading sectors is a key strategy in creating jobs and improving community welfare. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with secondary data obtained from official publications of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for the 2019–2024 period. The analytical methods used include Location Quotient (LQ), Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ), Shift Share, Klassen Typology, and Labor Ratio (RTK). The analysis results indicate that there are six leading sectors in North Lampung Regency. However, not all leading sectors have high labor absorption capacity. The Trade Sector is recorded as the sector with a more optimal labor absorption ratio compared to other leading sectors, although the Trade Sector is not a leading sector.
