Abstract
This study is motivated by the persistent stigma surrounding mental health issues in Indonesian society, which often leads to discrimination and difficulty for survivors in accessing support. In this context, personal narratives from public figures through digital media have emerged as a potential strategy to open up discussions and foster public empathy. This research aims to analyze the representation of mental health in the episode “Ngobrol Bareng Marshanda” on the YouTube channel Daniel Mananta Network, using Alan McKee’s textual analysis method. The analysis of 25 scenes reveals that Marshanda represents her experience as a mental health survivor in an open and reflective manner, emphasizing the importance of spirituality, social support, and self acceptance. Accompanying visuals—such as warm lighting and intimate camera angles—enhance the empathetic tone of the message. The findings indicate that digital media has the potential to function as a tool for social transformation by breaking down stigma and promoting inclusive, contextualized mental health literacy.
