Abstract

This research was conducted to explore China's strategy in creating nation branding through the Winter Olympics in Beijing in 2022, due to the human rights violation cases that occurred at that time, which resulted in China getting serious attention in the international world. The purpose of researchers conducting this research is to analyze China's strategy in utilizing this international activity to improve the image of the country and also to build a positive international perspective on China. And the main purpose of this research is to complete the final assignment of the author's lecture. The method used in this research is a qualitative method through secondary data, including media reports, official documents, as well as case studies related to branding strategies. The results of this study show that how China utilizes the Winter Olympics to build a better national image after the case that hit China. The Olympics also serves as a tool to attract tourists as well as improve the existing economy. The conclusion is that through the Winter Olympics China can build and strengthen an international image that has been damaged in the eyes of the world.
