Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of financial technology (fintech) and self-control on the financial management success of MSMEs in Surabaya, as well as to examine the moderating role of financial literacy in that relationship. In the ever-evolving digital era, financial technology is increasingly utilized by MSMEs to optimize their financial management. However, the effectiveness of fintech usage is influenced by the financial literacy level of MSME owners. Therefore, this research adopts a quantitative approach to examine the direct influence of fintech usage and financial management success, as well as the moderating effect of financial literacy on that relationship. This study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method on 330 culinary MSME actors selected through purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method through the SmartPLS 4 application. The results show that fintech and self-control have a positive and significant influence on financial management. Financial literacy significantly moderates the relationship between fintech and financial management but does not moderate the relationship between self-control and financial management. These findings indicate that financial literacy enhances the effectiveness of fintech use in managing business finances but does not directly strengthen the influence of self-control in the same context. This research contributes to the development of financial management strategies for MSMEs in the digital era and offers important insights into the significance of financial literacy in optimizing the use of financial technology. Keywords: Financial Technology (Fintech), Self-Control, Financial Management, Financial Literacy, MSMEs
