Abstract

Mental health among children and adolescents in Indonesia is becoming an increasingly urgent issue, with the prevalence of mental disorders reaching around 5.5% among adolescents, especially in East Java. Data from Prof. Dr. Soekandar General Hospital in Mojokerto indicates that access to mental health services remains limited, with an average of only 0.29% of the local population seeking such services. This highlights a significant gap between the demand for and availability of mental health services. Pacet District, with its peaceful and cool natural surroundings, holds great potential to be developed as a center for mental rehabilitation for children and adolescents. A biophilic architectural approach, which integrates natural elements into building design, is considered an effective method for creating a healing environment that supports mental health. Planning the rehabilitation center in Pacet using this approach is expected to provide a long-term solution that is not only functional but also addresses emotional and social aspects, while addressing the regional demand for mental health services in East Java.
