Abstract
Pasuruan City is one of the strategic cities in East Java Province, serving as a connector between Surabaya and other major cities in the region. With an area of approximately 147.4 km² and a population of 209,528 (Dispendukcapil Pasuruan, 2021), the increasing number of residents has led to higher levels of public activity and traffic volume, particularly during peak hours. This study aims to analyze the relationship between Degree of Saturation (DS), air temperature, and air pressure on traffic density across several main roads in Pasuruan City, namely Jalan Raya Veteran, Jalan Balaikota, Jalan WR. Supratman, Jalan Pahlawan, and Jalan Slagah. Data were obtained through direct field surveys conducted during morning (06:00–08:00) and evening (16:00–18:00) peak hours. The analysis involved calculating DS based on vehicle speed and volume using Microsoft Excel and SPSS, and mapping environmental and traffic density conditions using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) through ArcGIS 10.8. T-tests and F-tests were conducted to determine the significance of mean differences. The F-test result showed a value of 19.526 > 3.59, indicating that the alternative hypothesis (H₁) is accepted. The correlation between DS, temperature, and air pressure for the inbound direction to Pasuruan City resulted in the regression equation Y = 794.222 – 1.642X₁ – 0.755X₂, with a coefficient of determination R² = 0.697. For the outbound direction, the regression equation was Y = 748.791 + 0.932X₁ – 0.711X₂, with R² = 0.709. These findings indicate a significant relationship between the observed variables and traffic congestion levels. Keywords: Geographic Information Systems (GIS), air temperature, air pressure, Degree of Saturation (DS)
