Abstract

Surabaya, as one of Indonesia's metropolitan cities, is experiencing significant traffic growth due to the increasing number of vehicles and urban activities. This study aims to determine the traffic volume, speed, and density along the corridor from Ahmad Yani Street to Kedung Doro Street during morning, noon, and afternoon periods. The method employed involves direct field surveys to collect traffic volume and speed data, followed by analysis using the Greenshield model to examine the relationship between traffic speed and density. The results were then spatially mapped using ArcGIS software. The analysis shows that the Jam Density (Dj) is 625.48 pcu/km, the Maximum Volume (Qmax) is 6651.53 pcu/hour, the Density at Qmax (Dm) is 312.74 pcu/km, and the Speed at Qmax (Vm) is 21.28 km/h. The Free-Flow Speed (Vf) obtained through the Greenshield model is 42.55 km/h. The study concludes that the analytical results closely align with actual field conditions, indicating that the Greenshield model and ArcGIS-based mapping are effective tools for analyzing and planning Surabaya’s transportation system.
