Abstract

Indonesia is one of the world's major coffee producers and exporters, but faces various challenges in maintaining competitiveness in the global market. This study aims to analyze Indonesia's coffee export potential and measure the influence of several economic variables on coffee export volume, including the value of coffee exports, production, world coffee prices, rupiah exchange rate against US dollars, and plantation area. The research uses annual secondary data for the period 1999–2022. The analysis method used was Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) to assess competitiveness, and multiple linear regression to analyze the influence of variables on export volume. The results of the study show that Indonesia has a comparative advantage with an average RCA value of 3.86. The value of coffee exports has a positive and significant effect on export volume, while production variables, international coffee prices, rupiah exchange rates, and area area show negative influences. International prices and rupiah exchange rates have a significant impact, while production and area are not statistically significant. These findings confirm that the increase in exports is more determined by quality, added value, and production efficiency than land expansion alone.
