Abstract
As the world's population grows and the prevalence of disease increases, the demand for healthcare professionals continues to rise. Human resources hold a strategic position, contributing to achieving organizational goals with a competitive advantage. The purpose of this study is to determine how workload and emotional exhaustion affect employee performance of Primary Health Center employees in Semanding District. This study also investigates the mediating role of organizational commitment. This research uses a method known as Partial Least Square (PLS), which has the ability to examine the relationship between variables. The sampling technique used a saturated sample totaling 73 people as respondents. In this study, variables include Workload (X1), Emotional Exhasution (X2), Organizational Commitment (Z) as a mediator and Employee Performance (Y). This study shows the results that workload has a negative and significant influence on employee performance on the main health center employees in the semanding sub-district, Emotional Exhaustion has a negative and significant influence on Employee Performance on the main health center employees in the semanding sub-district, Workload has a negative and significant influence on Employee Performance through the mediating role of Organizational Commitment on the main health center employees in the semanding sub-district, and Emotional Exhaustion has a negative and significant influence on Employee Performance through the mediating role of Organizational Commitment on the main health center employees in the semanding sub-district.
