Abstract
The issue of child exploitation in Indonesia remains a serious concern. Thousands of cases are recorded each year, covering various forms of exploitation, ranging from economic, sexual, to social. Children who become victims often experience long-term effects on their physical and mental health. On the other hand, the role of parents as the primary protectors of children is not yet fully optimized, with many not fully understanding how to prevent and address this exploitation. Based on a survey conducted, educational video content is considered an effective approach to enhancing social understanding, particularly among parents, regarding this issue. The design process for this educational video was carried out using both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data collection involved interviewing representatives from relevant government agencies, psychologists, and child protection practitioners, as well as conducting a community survey to map the existing level of understanding. Additionally, a study was conducted on existing educational materials as a reference. Data analysis was performed using the 5W+1H method and a fishbone diagram to formulate targeted messages. Visual and narrative concepts were then developed based on the synthesis of these results. The resulting video is a documentary with a maximum duration of 15 minutes, featuring content that evokes empathy and provides practical information on preventing child exploitation. Visual design prioritizes a warm tone, a simple yet impactful narrative flow, and design elements accessible to the target audience—parents. The production process involves validation by stakeholders to ensure the messages conveyed are appropriate and accurate. Through this educational video, it is hoped that the public, especially parents, can better understand their important role in preventing child exploitation. Beyond serving as an information medium, the video is expected to foster critical awareness and encourage sustainable behavioral change. This project represents a small yet meaningful step in the collective effort to create a safe and supportive environment for children's development in Indonesia.
