Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on the Human Development Index (HDI) in East Java Province using a Path Analysis approach. The variables analyzed include Life Expectancy (LE), representing SDGs point 3 "Good Health and Well-Being"; Mean Years of Schooling (MYS), representing SDGs point 4 "Quality Education"; and Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR), representing SDGs point 8 "Decent Work and Economic Growth". MYS also serves as an intervening variable. This research uses secondary data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) covering the ten regencies/cities with the highest HDI in East Java for the period 2020–2023. The results show that LE and MYS have a positive and significant effect on HDI, while LFPR does not significantly affect HDI. Furthermore, MYS acts as an intervening variable between LE and HDI, but does not mediate the relationship between LFPR and HDI. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening the education and health sectors to improve human development achievements in East Java.
