Abstract

The Certified Independent Study and Internship Program (MSIB) is one of the programs of the Independent Campus which is implemented for one semester or approximately 6 months which is converted into 20 credits. This MSIB program provides an opportunity for all students in Indonesia to experience working and studying outside the campus. The implementation of MSIB involves the process of gathering knowledge through independent study, mentorship, and guidance. The Surabaya City Food and Agriculture Security Service (DKPP) has a program in the development of agriculture and food security in the city of Surabaya, one of which is KaSurBoyo (Kampung Sayur Suroboyo). KaSurBoyo implements a method known as Urban Farming urban agriculture by utilizing the land it owns. What will be planted are horticultural and hydroponic plants. The KaSurBoyo program aims to enable people in Surabaya to utilize the land in their environment to become productive land. There are 7 MSIB internship positions included in the KaSurBoyo program, one of which is a social media specialist whose main task is branding. For example, logo design, posters, Instagram feeds, product design, sign systems, this process is carried out for approximately 6 months starting from observation, interviews with 10 farmer groups, program design, design process and submission of design results. And the results of the design, etc., will be given to the 10 farmer groups that have entered KaSurBoyo so that they can provide new visual branding for each of their vegetable villages, and there will be a final video of the results of all MSIB internship positions showing the development of the Suroboyo vegetable village and the Surabaya City DKPP.
