Abstract

Marriage is the beginning of a long journey that will shape the lives of the next generation. However, many couples enter marriage without fully grasping the importance of emotional, mental, and communication readiness. This unpreparedness can lead to conflicts and even domestic violence, which causes deep psychological wounds. If not healed, these wounds have the potential to be unconsciously passed on to children, creating a pattern of trauma that repeats itself from generation to generation. Through this premarital education campaign, the author presents a new approach to delivering intergenerational domestic violence prevention messages. The research involved interviews, questionnaires, and literature studies. The target audience of this campaign is individuals between the ages of 19 and 25, a time when many people begin to consider the future of long-term relationships. The design process involved needs analysis, audience experience mapping, and visual conceptualization that speaks to people emotionally and in a down-to-earth way. The analysis revealed that a campaign emphasizing empathy, relevant information, and attractive visuals can raise audience awareness of the importance of marriage readiness. The visual design incorporated educational characters, emotional illustration styles, and interactive media, including posters, pocket books, digital content, and souvenirs. Validation showed that the audience felt more emotionally connected and motivated to prepare mentally for marriage. This campaign is expected to be a preventive solution for breaking the cycle of intergenerational domestic violence trauma. Through an empathetic and communicative design approach, brides-to-be realize the importance of self-reflection, healing past wounds, and establishing healthy communication in relationships. These results have the potential to positively impact not only individuals but also create generations of emotionally and socially healthier families. Keywords: educational campaign, premarital, intergenerational trauma, domestic violence, visual communication, marriage readiness
