Abstract

Consumptive behavior is an action related to the decision to buy, but does not involve a thought process in making purchasing decisions. Factors such as lifestyle, financial literacy, and financial technology as moderating variables play a role in shaping the consumption behavior of UPN Veteran East Java students. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence consumptive behavior and its implications for individual financial management, especially UPN Veteran East Java students. This study uses a quantitative approach method with the type of primary data collected through the results of distributing questionnaires with google form. The number of samples was 100 UPN Veteran East Java students determined by stratified random sampling technique. The data analysis test in this study used the Structural Equation Model- Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) analysis technique with SmartPLS Version 4.0 software. The results of this study indicate that lifestyle variables are able to contribute to consumptive behavior positively and significantly, financial literacy is able to contribute to consumptive behavior negatively and significantly, financial technology is able to contribute lifestyle to consumptive behavior, while financial technology is not able to contribute financial literacy to consumptive behavior.
