Abstract

Climate change, dwindling natural resources, and growing consumer awareness have compelled multinational corporations, including Yamaha Corporation (YC), to adopt sustainable business practices. Through Yamaha Group Sustainability Policy, YC has demonstrated its commitment to sustainability in the musical instrument industry, particularly focusing on the wood supply chain as a primary production material. This study employs the Sustainable Business Model Initiative (SBMI) framework to identify YMC's sustainability implementation from 2015 to 2024 across three key components: Sustainable Value Proposition Innovation (SVPI), Sustainable Value Creation & Delivery (SVC&DI), and Sustainable Value Capture Innovation (SVCI). The qualitative descriptive study uses secondary data from YC's official reports and announcements, reports from related organizations' websites, and credible news outlets to validate findings. This research centers on business sustainability in the musical instrument sector, a relatively underexplored area. Based on the analysis, YMC has demonstrated its commitment by effectively utilizing resources, various policies and innovations, and collaboration with stakeholders.
