Abstract

Batu City is one of the areas in East Java with huge tourism potential. In terms of infrastructure, Batu is increasingly developing along with improved accessibility, various types of accommodation, and many tourist facilities. The increase in the number of tourists each year makes Batu City has good tourism development potential so that it can be an attraction for domestic and foreign tourists. Although Batu City has a rapid development in the tourism sector, namely by increasing various tourism facilities, there are still challenges related to the lack of adequate lodging facilities to accommodate the increasing number of tourists each year. This condition will directly reduce the attractiveness for tourists to visit Batu City. Therefore, to solve these problems, a 4-star city hotel with a bioclimatic architectural approach is presented as an accommodation facility that prioritizes and increases comfort for its residents. The Bioclimatic approach was chosen because it is suitable and responsive to the extreme climate and weather in Batu City and utilizes the natural conditions of the surrounding environment. City hotels with a bioclimatic approach prioritize visitor comfort and direct connectivity with the surrounding nature. In addition to lodging facilities, the city hotel also provides recreation, relaxation, sports and shopping areas. The result of this design prioritizes comfort and connectivity between residents and the surrounding natural conditions that visitors will enjoy when staying at City Hotel Batu City.
