Abstract
The existence of cars for the community has become something that is difficult to separate from people's daily activities. To support the use of cars so that they can function properly, good maintenance is needed. Car maintenance activities are generally carried out at car repair shops. This car maintenance activity will produce hazardous waste which, if not managed properly, can burden the environment and cause pollution. This research was conducted to find out whether the form of B3 waste management in car repair shops has fulfilled the regulations listed in Permenlhk No.6 of 2021. After knowing the form of hazardous waste management in car repair shops, a form of recommendation for hazardous waste management procedures in car repair shops will be prepared, which can be considered by workshops to develop SOPs for hazardous waste management. To support this research, the PDCA method used as the basis for identification, supported by data processing through the FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) and HIRARC (Hazard Identification Risk Assessment and Risk Control) methods. Based on the results of the study, of the three workshops observed, only one workshop was considered capable of fulfilling existing regulations properly, namely the Mitsubishi Arista workshop. For the second workshop, namely the Butik Oli workshop, it can follow the applicable regulations quite well, but improvement is needed on several points. For the third workshop, namely the Automatic 88 workshop, it is considered that it is still lacking in implementing hazardous waste management and must make improvements to meet applicable regulations. With the hazardous waste management recommendations prepared, it is estimated that workshops that are able to follow these recommendations can follow existing regulations to the same extent as the first workshop. Concluding this research, many car repair shops have not been able to follow the regulations that have been set. Many factors can cause this, but it is good that each car repair shop is able to manage B3 waste properly, because if it can manage B3 waste properly, it can indirectly help preserve the health of the surrounding environment.
