Abstract

Internship and Certified Independent Study (MSIB) is one of the programs of Campus Merdeka Learning Internship (MBKM) organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbudristek) to provide opportunities for students throughout Indonesia to learn and develop themselves outside of their regular academic activities, while still being recognized as part of their coursework. Alterra Academy is one of the partners in the MSIB program, offering the Complete Front-End Engineer Career With Flutter Independent Study program for Batch 4. The program includes various areas of focus such as Front-End Website Development, Front-End Mobile, Back-End Developer, Quality Assurance Engineer, and UI/UX. In addition to aiming to create responsible developers with strong hard and soft skills, Alterra Academy encourages mentees to help organizations in Indonesia find the best talents for their organizations. A Front-End Engineer's task is to work on the user interface of an application that can be used on Android, iOS, Windows, and websites. Alterra Academy provides several challenges that mentees must complete within a one-week period. This Certified Independent Study program provides new experiences and knowledge beyond what is taught in the classroom. At the end of the program, mentees will participate in examinations in the form of Mini Projects and Capstone Projects. Mini Projects are done individually, while Capstone Projects are done in groups to give mentees experience in teamwork, inter-team discussions, and collaboration with other programming divisions. The Capstone Project is the final assignment for the mentees, where each group is tasked with solving a real-life problem based on a theme provided by Alterra Academy. Among the various themes offered, the writer's group received the theme "Loyalty Point Agent," which aims to create an application that allows users to benefit from its usage.
