Abstract

Virtusee is an employee performance monitoring platform that features leave authorization, monthly performance monitoring, and self-service pay slip access. This application was last developed in 2014, and based on interviews with users, it was found that the appearance of the application was considered old-fashioned and not in accordance with current technological developments. The results of usability testing using the System Usability Scale (SUS) showed a score of 39.7, which is classified as a “Poor” category with an F classification, so improvements are needed. This research aims to redesign the Virtusee application using the UserCentered Design (UCD) method to improve usability and user satisfaction. The design process was conducted iteratively by involving users at each design stage. Testing of the new design showed significant improvements, with SUS scores reaching 80.3 and positive results on the QUIS questionnaire with average scores of 5.9 to 6.8. Additional evaluation through Heuristic Evaluation also generated feedback for further improvement. The results of this study show that the UCD method is effective in improving the quality of application design, supporting productivity, and providing a better user experience. This method is expected to be a reference in the development of similar applications in the future.
