Abstract
Pabrik Sodium Thiosulfate Pentahydrate dari Sodium Sulfite dan Sulfur dengan kapasitas 50.000 Ton/Tahun akan didirikan di Kawasan JIIPE, Manyar, Gresik, Jawa Timur, Indonesia. Bahan baku yang digunakan adalah Sodium Sulfite (Na2SO3) yang diperoleh impor dari PT. Lianyungang Huaihua International Trade (China) dan Sulfur (S) yang diperoleh dari PT. Belirang Kalisari, Surabaya, Jawa Timur. Pembuatan Sodium Thiosulfate Pentahydrate dari Sodium Sulfite dan Sulfur ini terdiri dari tiga tahapan proses. Pertama, yaitu persiapan bahan baku, dimana padatan sodium sulfite dilarutkan dengan air sebelum masuk ke reaktor. Tahap kedua adalah proses reaksi, dimana larutan sodium sulfite direaksikan dengan sulfur di dalam reaktor. Tahap ketiga adalah tahap pembentukan kristal, dimana larutan sodium thiosulfate dialirkan menuju evaporator untuk dipekatkan terlebih dahulu hingga konsentrasinya 60%, lalu dialirkan menuju crystallizer untuk membentuk kristal Sodium Thiosulfate Pentahydrate.
