Abstract

This research aims to predict the abundance of phytoplankton as a bioindicator of water quality in the Sumberwaru River, Mojokerto Regency. The analysis is carried out by considering various water quality parameters such as COD, Nitrate, Phosphate, pH, temperature, and turbidity. The Pearson correlation method was used to evaluate the relationship between the relationship of phytoplankton and these parameters. The research results show a significant correlation between phytoplankton abundance and water quality, providing an overciew of the influence of human and industrial activities around the river on the aquatic ecosystem's condition. This research can support efforts for sustainable water quality monitoring and management. Keywords: Phytoplankton abundance index, Physicochemical parameters, Water quality
