Abstract

Medical devices are developing rapidly with many new discoveries in the world of health. To improve the function and efficiency of the product, it is necessary to compare and develop the tools produced by the factory, whether these tools meet the needs and have maximum product efficiency. One of the applications of health technology in the orthopaedic field is the use of bone plates. The type of bone plate that will be investigated in this study is the round hole plate. This research is conducted quantitatively using the FMEA method by finding the highest RPN score on the Round Hole Plate component. The scoring result shows that the hole shape component on the Round Hole Plate has an RPN score of 36, which is classified as high, indicating interference in the use of the Round Hole Plate. These results become the basis for researchers to develop a variation tool of the Round Hole Plate product.
