Abstract
Indonesia is an agrarian country that has great potential, especially in the agricultural sector, which if managed properly can become the mainstay of the national economy. One of them is utilization in the tourism sector. The mechanism of building design often does not pay attention to nature conservation, so it is necessary to develop the concept of utilizing and preserving the natural potential around by initiating ecological-based tourism. Blitar Regency has natural potential that has not been utilized to the fullest. Blitar Regency itself has many tourist attractions, but has not paid attention to the state and sustainability of the environment and the surrounding nature. It is hoped that through Tea Garden Agrotourism that incorporates ecological elements into its design, a tourist destination that is aware of the surrounding environment will be created so that it can maintain the sustainability of the ecosystem and be adaptive to nature. In the process of designing Tea Garden Agrotourism with an Ecological Architecture Approach in Blitar, an analysis of facts, issues, and objectives regarding site conditions has been carried out. based on the analysis that has been carried out, the theme "Nature as a Teacher" was chosen. This theme aims to make the surrounding community aware that nature has infinite meaning for human life so that they will maintain its sustainability. The design of the Tea Garden Agrotourism aims to become one of the ecologically-based tourism and education areas in Blitar Regency. In order to support this theme, the approach and method chosen is Ecological Architecture by applying five principles, namely climate adjustment, saving energy sources, utilizing local materials, adjusting users, and adjusting to natural conditions.
