Abstract

This study has four variables, consisting of Worklife Balance (X1), Work Family Conflict (X2), Emotional Exhaustion (Z) as a mediator, and Job Satisfaction (Y). Job satisfaction is one of the factors for a female nurse to have high work enthusiasm because female nurses feel happy with the work they do. Job satisfaction can be supported by the existence of work-life balance, namely by the balance of work and family, in addition, job satisfaction can be supported by the existence of a low level of work family conflict where no one role is dominant. With this, through emotional exhaustion, female nurses can also feel satisfaction when the level of fatigue at work is low. This study aims to determine and understand the effect of work-life balance and work family conflict on the job satisfaction of female nurses through the mediation role of emotional exhaustion at Kediri Baptist Hospital. The research conducted is quantitative research. The sample of this study was female nurses working in the inpatient unit of Kediri Baptist Hospital with a total of 82 respondents who were conducted using a purposive sampling technique with the criteria desired by the author. The data analysis technique used was the SEM-PLS (Partial Least Square) method. The results of this study indicate that work-life balance has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, work-family conflict has a negative and significant effect on job satisfaction. In addition, work-life balance also has an effect on job satisfaction through the mediating role of emotional exhaustion, and work-family conflict has an effect on job satisfaction through the mediating role of emotional exhaustion. Keywords: Emotional Exhaustion, Job Satisfaction, Work-Life Balance, Work-Family Conflict
