Abstract

The working principle of a furnace in processing crude oil is to utilize the heat produced from burning fuel oil which comes from the residue of the crude oil processing process which has been mixed with diesel fuel. The heat produced from burning fuel oil is used to heat the crude oil until it reaches its boiling point. Crude oil is passed through several tubes in the furnace so that heat can be transferred optimally. From the results of the calculations that have been carried out, the efficiency value for furnace-01 is 85.9% of this value, so it can be concluded that furnace-01 is still operational because it has a fairly high efficiency value.
