Abstract

In 2023, the poverty rate in East Java Province was high, reaching 10,35 percent, making it the third poorest region in Java. The highest contributors to poverty in the province are Sampang District, Bangkalan District, Sumenep District, and Probolinggo District. The high poverty rate makes the problem of poverty one of the priorities in every development. Therefore, it is necessary to measure the factors that affect poverty, such as in research using the variables of the Open Unemployment Rate, District Minimum Wage, and the amount of government spending in providing social assistance. This research is a quantitative research using secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and DJPK. In the analysis, panel data linear regression is used using Eviews 10 and the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) is the best model chosen. Based on the tests that have been carried out, using a significance level of 5%, it is found that the Open Unemployment Rate variable has no significant effect with a positive correlation on the Poverty Level. The Regency Minimum Wage variable has a significant effect with a negative correlation on the Poverty Level. And the Social Assistance Expenditure variable has a significant effect with a positive correlation on the Poverty Level.
