Abstract
ABSTRACT The 2024 edition of the general election in Indonesia has become a hot topic of discussion among the public, especially regarding the issue of dynastic politics or what can be interpreted as ruling government power controlled by family members. Dynasty politics refers to the practice where political power or positions are held by members of the same or closely related family which has become a phenomenon in the 2024 presidential and vice presidential election. Mass media acts as the main channel for conveying political information to the public. It covers news about policies, political campaigns, elections, and politicians' activities. The media has the power to shape public opinion through the way they present information. The choice of news, point of view, and method of presentation influence people's perceptions of political issues. The media also functions as a watchdog by monitoring the actions of governments and politicians and exposing scandals and irregularities. The theories that researchers will use are theories regarding Tempo magazines, power in politics, and representation theory referring to Charles Sanders Peirce's analytical method. In this research, researchers used screenshots from the 2024 presidential and cawapres edition of Tempo magazine. The description of power can be concluded that power is within the scope of the presidential and cawapres edition with the meaning of having power in government.
