Abstract
Sidoarjo Regency is a famous area in East Java Province as an industrial center. The industrial sector is able to contribute more to GDP than other economic sectors. However, problems related to employment have not been resolved until now. With that, this study aims to determine the effect of economic growth, education level, and labor force participation rate on labor absorption in Sidoarjo Regency. This study used multiple regression analysis method on secondary data. The results showed that economic growth did not affect the absorption of labor due to technological advances. Then the level of education measured using the average length of schooling indicator has a positive and significant effect on employment. With education, a person is able to increase his productivity. The labor force participation rate also has a positive and significant effect on labor absorption in Sidoarjo Regency due to the increasing population every year.
