Abstract
Indonesia, known for its natural beauty, culture, and resources, is a major attraction with its diverse landscapes, rich culture, distinctive cuisine, and traditional atmosphere. Tourism plays a key role in increasing national and regional income, advancing economic, cultural and community sectors. Yogyakarta, ranked seventh in all of Indonesia, with its blend of student city, royal heritage, and strong foundation in traditional culture, Yogyakarta can invite more tourists. Significant growth of the tourism sector, however, is the availability of resorts, especially those that present cultural recreation of Yogyakarta, on the introduction of cultures such as batik, wayang, dance, and other cultures. As per the mayor's regulation No.22 of 2022. The contemporary architectural approach was chosen so that the building can be different, using renewable technology and designs that are in accordance with its era, so that it can attract tourists to do lodging and recreation at the International Resort. The method used in this design is pattern based framework where the designer recognises the formal arrangement between architectural elements which are then applied to a design. Thus, the design of the International Resort that uses a contemporary architectural approach can be an answer to the problem of the lack of lodging facilities faced by the Yogyakarta government and can attract foreign tourists.
