Abstract
In the world of cinema, mother-child conflicts that occur in the family are an interesting topic that is raised in various films. One of them is a drama series entitled "Induk Gajah" which tells about the relationship between mother and daughter which is filled with conflict, where all forms of demands and insistences from the mother give rise to debate and resistance from the child who feels that he has the right to his life. The researcher found several audience comments that showed pros and cons regarding the depiction of conflict in the drama. This study aims to describe how female audiences accept the conflict between mother and child in the drama series "Induk Gajah". The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method by collecting data through in-depth interviews with female audiences and documentation. The research obtained shows that the seven informants have various views in interpreting the conflict, with various positions, namely dominant-hegemonic, negotiated, and oppostional. The reception of informants in each scene is able to produce different views because each informant has experience (field of experience) and knowledge (frame of reference) with diverse backgrounds.
