Abstract
Post-harvest pests that have the potential to damage corn kernels are Sitophilus zeamais and Sitophilus oryzae. This study aims to determine the developmental stage of S. zeamais and S. oryzae pests on various varieties of corn kernels in the laboratory. The results showed that the treatment of S. zeamais pests resulted in the lowest percentage of mortality of imago on corn seeds of Lokal Madura, Pioneer P32 Singa and P27 Gajah varieties (0%); the highest average fecundity test was on Pioneer P32 Singa variety (35,33 grains); the highest percentage of seed weight loss was on Lokal Madura variety (5,06%); the lowest percentage of sex ratio was on Lokal Madura variety (0,56%); and the highest average sensitivity index was on Lokal Madura variety (29,06). The treatment of S. oryzae pests resulted in the lowest percentage of imago mortality on maize seeds of the Pioneer P32 Singa variety (0%); the highest average fecundity test was on the P27 Gajah variety (40,67 grains); the highest percentage of seed weight loss was on the Pioneer P32 Singa variety (5,51%); the lowest percentage of sex ratio was on the Pioneer P32 Singa variety (0,75%); and the highest average sensitivity index was on the P27 Gajah variety (44,67).
