Abstract

In the current era of globalization, the existence of goods delivery service companies supports almost every area of human life. PT Bintang 29 Mandiri is a company operating in the service industry, namely as a goods delivery service. In the process of delivering goods, PT Bintang 29 Mandiri always strives to provide fast and precise service. However, the problem faced by the company is the long lead time for delivery of goods. This research aims to analyze the level of waste that occurs and develop recommendations for improvements to the goods delivery process at PT Bintang 29 Mandiri. This research uses a lean distribution approach, by applying Value Stream Mapping and identifying waste using 8 wastes, namely defects, overproduction, waiting, non-utilized talent, transportation, inventory, motion and excess processing. From the research results, it was found that waiting recapitulation was 20%, excess processing was 18%, overproduction was 17%, defects were 13%, non-utilized talent was 10%, inventory was 9%, transportation was 7%, and motion was 6%. With the proposed improvements, the goods delivery process time can be reduced from 8243 minutes to 5929 minutes. Keyword: Lead time, Lean distribution, Value Stream Mapping, Waste
