Abstract
Tourism encompasses travelers' journeys and various activities during their trips. The development of tourist destinations depends on attractions such as natural beauty and historical sites. Surabaya is known for its coastal tourist areas, one of which is the Surabaya Mangrove Botanical Garden. Established in 2018 and inaugurated in 2023, this Mangrove Forest serves as a recreational site and alternative food source development. Despite extensive exploitation of mangrove forests in Indonesia, this establishment has the potential to boost the local economy and protect the environment. The aim of this research is to determine the participation and performance of stakeholders in maintaining the existence of the Surabaya Mangrove Botanical Garden Ecotourism to ensure its sustainability and development. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through two main techniques: interviews and documentation. The results indicate that UPTD manages facilities and empowers the community. Strategies include improving facilities and expanding the mangrove collection to become the most comprehensive in Southeast Asia, along with promotion through Instagram by DKPP.
