Abstract

As a great nation, Indonesia has a demand to advance the culture of literacy. The National Literacy Movement (GLN), promoted by the Ministry of Education and Culture since 2016, emphasizes six basic literacy that must be mastered, including financial literacy. Financial literacy, as defined by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), includes understanding, skills, and beliefs that influence attitudes and actions to improve the quality of financial decision making. Financial education, especially for early childhood, still receives little attention, both in the family and school environment and is still considered unimportant. This study aims to design an interactive book for the introduction of financial literacy in early childhood. The research method used is qualitative using interview methods, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and observation. Data analysis techniques use descriptive analysis. The results of research with the target audience related to books show that children prefer books that are colorful, thick, and have funny and fun characters. They also expressed interest in shopping and reading books, especially interactive books. Based on the results of the research that has been done, the keyword "Creative and Interactive Financial Education Media" was obtained which means an effort to provide education through an interactive book media to convey the message of introducing financial literacy to children aged 4-6 years creatively. These keywords are then developed to be used as a reference for visual, verbal, and media concepts. This research is expected to contribute to improving early childhood financial literacy through the development of interesting and educational interactive books. In addition, this designed media can also be used by parents as a medium to teach financial literacy to early childhood, especially for parents who are confused to start.
