Abstract
Environmental sanitation problems do not only occur within the household, but in educational institutions including Islamic boarding schools, attention needs to be paid. Islamic boarding schools are not only a place to gain knowledge, but also a place to live for santri (students). So the behavior of students has a very big role in creating environmental sanitation conditions for Islamic boarding schools. This research was conducted with the aim of determining the environmental sanitation conditions at the Al-Urwatul Wutsqo Islamic Boarding School in Jombang. Apart from that, to determine the relationship between knowledge, attitudes and actions of students towards environmental sanitation conditions at the Al-Urwatul Wutsqo Islamic Boarding School in Jombang. Observation and interview methods were carried out to determine the existing conditions of environmental sanitation at the Al-Urwatul Wutsqo Jombang Islamic Boarding School. Meanwhile, to find out the relationship between santri behavior and the sanitary conditions of the boarding school environment, by distributing questionnaires, the data was processed using IBM SPSS 24. The research variables examined were santri behavior, namely knowledge, attitudes and actions of santri. The results of research on the existing conditions of environmental sanitation show that most meet the requirements of applicable laws and regulations, but the conditions for providing clean water do not meet the requirements as raw material for drinking water because it has a fairly high TDS level, namely 628 mg/L. Then the results of the questionnaire data test showed that students' knowledge did not have a significant positive relationship with environmental sanitation conditions, but students' attitudes and actions had a significant positive relationship with environmental sanitation conditions.
