Abstract

Group 2 Kopassus Kandang Menjangan Kartasura is located on the Solo Jogja highway where this section of road is classified as a primary arterial road connecting the Central Java Province and Yogyakarta Special Region Provinces. With the primary arterial road classification, of course community traffic activity and the flow of goods and services is very high. This activity may cause a noise impact from public, private and commercial vehicle that always cross this road everyday. One solution to overcome this is to use Japanese bamboo plants that are already available as aesthetic fences. This research aims to determine the ability of these plants to serve as a natural sound barrier. The research points were divided into 6 points located in front of the bamboo and behind the bamboo where the measurement data were analyzed using the One Way Annova method while the air temperature and contour elevation measurement data were processed using the Multiple Linear Regression method. As a result, Japanese bamboo plants have a significant influence in reducing road traffic noise, getting a P - Value of 0.00, good data of 60% as shown in the R-square value which is close to 100%. Meanwhile, temperature and contour elevation do not have a significant influence on the propagation and blocking of noise generated from road traffic activities where the P - value is 0.41 for the temperature P - value and 0.45 for the P - value of ground elevation. Keywoards : Traffic Noise Control, Natural Sound Barrier, Japanese Bamboo, Temperature and Contour Elevation, One Way Annova, Multiple Linear Regression
