Abstract
Gresik as an industrial big area based on projections by the Master Plan for the East Java Industrial Growth Center Region. The growth of the industrial sector in Gresik as an economic opportunity is followed by wage progress in 2017- 2021. With this, economic projections in Gresik are very large leading to escalation. However, there is an employment challenge, the high unemployment rate in Gresik. So this research finds out how the growth of the processing industry sector, labor force, and minimum wage influences the level of open unemployment. The research method uses a quantitative approach in classical assumption testing, model testing, multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing. The results of this research show that the growth of the processing industrial sector has no significant effect on the unemployment rate because the industrial scheme in Gresik is capital-intensive. Then the growth of the labor force doesn't have a significant effect on the unemployment rate because the unemployment factor is also seen from education. The growth of the minimum wage has a significant and negative effect on the unemployment rate, which reflects that wages can increase the demand for labor in Gresik. Keywords: Industrial Development, Labor Force, Minimum Wages, Open Unemployment Rate.
