Abstract

The production process of oxalic acid dihydrate requires raw materials consisting of from main raw materials and supporting raw materials. The main raw materials are. Sweet potato starch. Meanwhile, the supporting raw materials are nitric acid and catalyst (Sulfuric Acid, Ferric Sulfate, and Vanadium Pentoxide). The raw material is starch Sweet potatoes are hydrolyzed to become glucose in a hydrolysis reactor. The results exiting the reactor is a mixture of glucose which will be oxidized to become acid oxalate reacted with nitric acid. Oxalic acid is then separated between cake with the liquid, the liquid obtained is concentrated in the evaporator and A high concentration of oxalic acid was obtained. Oxalic acid mixture which is in a thick liquid phase is converted into crystal in a crytallizer and obtained oxalic acid dihydrate. Then the oxalic acid dihydrate crystals are dried with a temperature of 100℃ and a uniform size of 100 mesh. Oxalic acid dihydrate ready to be marketed.
