Abstract
Every country has the same goal of prospering its citizens, having a strong economy and equitable development. Poverty is a very complex and multidimential problem. Therefore, equitable development is one way to alleviate poverty in Indonesia, where many regions are included in underdeveloped regions. In East Java, especially Madura Island, namely Bangkalan, Sampang, Pamekasan and Sumenep Regencies are still in the poverty line. This research aims to determine the factors that influence poverty in Bangkalan, Sampang, Pamekasan and Sumenep Regencies. This research uses quantitative time-series data from 2009-2018 with multiple linear regression analysis methods with the help of the SPSS 13.0 quantitative data processing program. The results of research indicate that economic growth and unemployment have a significant effect on poverty in Pamekasan Regency, but do not have a significant effect on poverty in Bangkalan, Sampang and Sumenep Regencies. The Human Development Index has a significant effect on poverty in Bangkalan, Sampang, Pamekasan and Sumenep districts. While together economic growth, unemployment and the Human Development Index have a significant effect on poverty in Bangkalan, Sampang, Pamekasan and Sumenep Regencies.
