Abstract

RICO Tempe Chips MSME is one of the largest tempe chips MSMEs in Sadang Village, Ngawi Regency. In the production process, work accidents often occur. It is known that the cause of work accidents comes from human negligence, such as workers who are negligent in controlling machines, rushing to work and not using complete PPE. The aim of this research is to analyze human error, determine the risk level of the RICO Tempe Chips production process for MSMEs and provide recommendations for system improvements using the SHERPA method to reduce work accidents in activities caused by human error. Based on SHERPA Error Mode, human errors in the action error type were identified as 21 errors or equal to 49%, checking error type as many as 5 errors or equal to 12%, retrieval type errors as many as 9 errors or equal to 21%; the communication error type is 6 errors or 14%, the selection error type is 2 errors or the same as 5%. Then identification and assessment of work accident risks are carried out based on human error. Proposed improvement strategies were provided to minimize or even eliminate the potential risk of work accidents in RICO UMKM tempe chip production activities.
